Walking the Line has won numerous tribute contests and awards and in 2011 was picked as  the best tribute show in the country. With career spanning fourteen years and hundreds of shows (many sold out) Walking the Line has fined tuned their production to please any die hard fan or casual listener of Johnny Cash. 

Playing the part of Johnny Cash is Thomas Michael Cavanagh. As one concert review stated “Cavanagh's  voice, look and actions don't just replicate Johnny Cash, it is Johnny Cash.” Cavanagh brings his experiences from performing as a lead in Broadway for several major shows as well as his many years of working in the tribute scene. 

Performing the part of June Carter Cash is Donna Domingo. Donna  is well known as a vocalist and guitar player in several successful cover bands as well as playing the part of Patsy Cline in her own tribute show. Her personality and vocal expertise make her the perfect June Carter Cash. 

The band also consists of some of New Yorks best and most respected musicains such as Kenny Kearney on bass and vocals, Chris James on guitar and vocals and James Jay Sharkey on drums and vocals. 

Walking the Line performs in a variety of combinations in an effort to reach as many people as possible and can adapt to stage sizes and budgets. The band offers a solo, duo, trio, quartet, quintet, septet and an octet depending on what the event needs or wants. As a solo act Cavanagh can perform all the legendary Johnny Cash hits as well as focus on the many songs Cash performed by himself . Quite often Cavanagh and Domingo perform as a duo focusing on the wealth of material Johnny & June recorded and performed together such as Jackson, It Ain't Me Babe, Darling Companion and so many more. When Johnny Cash first began his epic career he started as Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Two. This three piece  provided us wuth a large percentage of Cash's biggest hits such as  I Walk the Line, Hey Porter, Cry Cry Cry, Big River and more.  Cavanagh, Kearney and James do a incredible job of recreating this golden era of Cash's career. Eventually Cash added drummer WS Holland and the Johnny Cash & the Tennesee Three we created. By addung Sharkey on the drums Walking the Line can replicate this epic period. Most people feel the years when June Carter joined  Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Three is the best part of the Cash touring and recording history. Walking the Line agrees and this is the most booked of all the versions of the band and the most loved. This line up gives the band the ability to cover every single period of Cash's multi decade career. The seven piece band comes complete with three Carter Sisters providing the harmonies and look of the late 60's Johnny Cash band and by adding a second electric guitarist Walking the Line is able to mimic the years where the great Carl Perkins was a part of the band.
