Social Sabotage was one of Tom Cavanagh's many high school bands. The band formed in the summer of 1987 while the members were all attending summer school. It was a short live project but a fun one. They only performed a few gigs and made one album which at the time was only available on cassette and limited to 250 copies. They were heavily inspired by bands like SOD, Anthrax, Metallica, Motorhead, Twisted Sister, Megadeth and other pioneers of thrash metal. The band considered themselves more of a performance art band than just a music act.
