Social Sabotage was one of Tom Cavanagh's many high school bands. The band formed in the summer of 1987 while the members were all attending summer school. It was a short live project but a fun one. They only performed a few gigs and made one album which at the time was only available on cassette and limited to 250 copies. They were heavily inspired by bands like SOD, Anthrax, Metallica, Motorhead, Twisted Sister, Megadeth and other pioneers of thrash metal. The band considered themselves more of a performance art band than just a music act. Sadly Steve-o died as a result of falling asleep with a cigarette in his mouth on his water bed after a night of heavy drinking. The cigarette started a fire when it ignited the bed sheets and the fire burned a hole in the mattress where he fell through and drowned since he had never learned to swim.
Mark died at the age of 20 as a result of a strange accident. Mark was an avid skateboarder and skater every where. He never owned a car. He had a notoriously bad candy and sugar habit which eventually led to his death at an early age. He was skateboarding down the street when he overheard a man in a white van offering two kids under 12 candy. Mark chased the two kids away and told the man in the van that he would get in for the candy. The man started to drive off since he was not interested in a 20 year old man and Mark chased after him yelling and demanding candy. While in pursuit of the van and the candy he went down a steep hill and couldn’t stop. He crashed through the fence then ended up going off of a cliff and falling a few thousand feet into a ravine. Denny joined a traveling circus as a maintenance man at 18 after high school but was mauled to death by a lion when the lion trainer accidentally left the cage door open. Tom continues to perform music today and after transferring the original tapes to protools and remixing it decided to make it public.
